Le P'tit Sainte Maure is an iconic goat cheese from the Poitou-Charentes region, produced by the Poitou Chèvre creamery located in the Deux-Sèvres department. Founded in 1906, this artisanal creamery collects fresh, whole goat's milk from local farms within a 50-kilometer radius, ensuring optimal quality and authentic flavor for its cheeses.
It is presented in the traditional shape of a cylindrical log and is hand-molded in individual molds. Aged between 12 and 25 days, it develops a natural, lightly ashed rind obtained by applying vegetable charcoal, which gives it a characteristic grayish hue. Its white, creamy paste offers a smooth and melt-in-the-mouth texture.
FLAVOR: Delicate and slightly tangy, evolving toward richer and earthier notes as it ages.
HOW TO ENJOY IT: It is best enjoyed with dried fruits, such as dried apricots, or accompanied by a beetroot dip for a touch of originality. To enhance its aromas, it is recommended to pair it with dry white wines, particularly a Sauvignon Blanc, a Fumé Blanc, or a Sancerre. Whether served as an aperitif, on a cheese platter, or incorporated into culinary recipes, this cheese adds a refined and authentic note to your gourmet moments.
